Where does the time go…
by Karrde on Apr.19, 2006, under Self
It’s been close to 3 months since I’ve posted to my own forum… kinda sad.
But things can keep you so busy, School, Work, TKD, Gaming ![]()
I’ve been spending a lot of time gaming lately, and I can’t say I’m sorry about it. I’ve bought a few new games lately, and played with a few new people lately.
TKD is going good, I’ve made Camo Belt (4th belt so far), and done my first Assistant Instructor class. Testing for the next belt is just a few weeks away.
My body is a troubling thing. About 3 weeks ago my heart started racing just sitting at my office desk. We have a blood pressure cuff in the office and I clocked in at about 150/95… not that great considering I’m usually 120/70 pretty solid. Went to the docs confirmed higher readings, but the EKG was normal… follow up in two weeks with my normal doctor. He checks me out, wouldn’t you know it my BP is just normal, but I have been having some difficulty in TKD class, so off to do a Stress Test.
Stress test was today. Interesting experience. Not as physical as I expected, time on the treadmill was only about 15min, but there’s a lot of waiting and imaging to be done. Guess I’ll know what’s up there next week… at least they didn’t rush me off to the hospital.
This weekend I’ll be heading out to RavenCon up in Richmond. A weekend of fun and gaming. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of pictures.
Silly Hobbies
by Karrde on Jan.03, 2006, under Self
Every now and then you get caught up in something a little silly. Once upon a time I came across a website called Where’s George. I found the link one day stamped onto a $1 bill, and decided to punch it into a web browser. Sinec then I put bills in on a somewhat random basis, but usually never hit or get hit myself.
So I’m heading home this Christmas from the great (not so) white north and I get some change on the NY Throughway. Written in sharpie is the website, so I tell Lee (she was handling the money while I drove) to set it aside… I don’t want to spend that one.
So I finally get around to putting it in today. Have to say I was a little disappointed, I hoped to find it a little more well traveled. But as I said… it’s a silly hobby.
Year end babbles
by Karrde on Dec.30, 2005, under Self
So the year 2005 is coming to a close. A good year overall for me and mine
The next year is still a little fuzzy. Lisa will continue school, and transition to the next level of the program in the fall semester. Staci is taking something of a “slack” semester in the spring, as she will switch majors in the fall. Even I’m going back to school in the spring semester to finish off the Business Administration degree that I started. And lastly on the school front, Elise will enter her senior year come September.
Lisa and I will be married 5 years come October, and been together 11 years this March. Not bad for all those doubters that said the age difference wouldn’t work….
I’d like to take another cruise this year. I definitely want to play more board games. And I want to take my Jeep off road (and not be avoiding plowing into someone to precipitate it). And mostly I just want to spend more time with my family.
Till next year.
Salute d’addio e buona
Random Babblings… 2005-10-05

Forgive me if this is less coherent than usual, not feeling well and on a good bit of medication.
Life is busy as usual, and typing isn’t always my thing.
Our cruise approaches ever closer, just 17 more days now, and this weekend we’re taking the kids (and ourselves) up to the Maryland Rennisance Festival, there will be plenty of pictures.
And speaking of, I got myself a new camera (I hear you now, another one???). This one is all me though, the Powershot is now Lisa’s camera. I got to give it a trial run at the Oceana Air Show. I took over 700 pictures, and whedeled it down to about 150 in that album.
We’ve been trying to lose weight for the cruise (Lee’s been doing a lot better than I), but I decided the other day that I was going to do more than just “change my diet”. So I’m going to start back doing Karate. Likely Tai Kuan Do, mainly for the convience of location (Dojo <1mi from the house). I would have liked to be able to take Tang Soo Do like I did w/ my day too many moons ago, but didn’t find a local Dojo, though the styles are very similar as they both originate from Korea.
