Carrying a murse is not a crime

And to that point I say FUCK YOU Burlington Coat Factory.

Carying a murse is not a crime
Frankly I’m tired of the discrimination. On the left we have my wife’s purse. On the right we have my murse, or man-bag, or whatever you want to call it. See much of a size difference? Didn’t think so. (continue reading…)

Two things that aren’t usually bad per say, but when combined can lead to dreadful results.
Movies and such….

As I sat at my computer lastnight watching Underworld: Evolution a few things crossed my mind.
First and formost, was that I was glad I didn’t waste money to to see this in theaters. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll buy it and it’ll sit right next to Underworld on the DVD shelf. But I’m glad that I didn’t spend $25 on movies and popcorn, to sit in a crowded room with incosiderate jerks.
But anyway…
I’ve always been a “Letterbox” snob. Even in the days of VHS tapes, if I could get a movie in letterbox I did. And my recent episode of not paying attention when I picked up Serenity, purchasing the fullscreen, and not being able to get a widescreen at Best Buy for a month (and still having to buy it elsewhere) frustrates me that movies are still released as such. When more widescreen TVs are being sold than standard. When mandates for the broadcast of digital/widescreen TV stations are right around the corner (even if they do keep pushing them back). Why or why is it necessary to release a movie in other than it’s original aspect ratio. But then I watch U:E at 2.35:1 aspect ratio on my 17″ monitor, and maybe I do understand a little. I’m probably just spoiled.
Back to incosiderate jerks. I limit what I will and won’t go to in the theaters nowadays because of them. And then I do try to go when the posibilities of them is reduced. So I was thinking that there wouldn’t be any movies that I’d actually want to see this year, guess I was wrong though. X-Men 3 comes out, though probably to my DVD player. Pirates of the Caribbean 2… a must see. Ice Age 2, I can hope it’ll live up to the original.
What’s your movie list look like?
I hate computers.

Replacing the computer for this server should have been an easy process. I had a new computer ready to go, just needed to swap a couple of aprts from the old to the new. Not a big deal, do it all the time.
Of course this computer happend to be in a building out of the way for both myself and the people who let me put it there. And because I’m not directly authorised, must be escorted into the server room. So timeing issues to get out there.
Then I get there, start swaping out the parts, Hard Drives, Network card, video card…. why won’t the video card go in??? You see at some point in time computer manufactures decided that AGP video cards ran at the “wrong” voltage, so they switched them from 5V to 3.3V or is it the other way around. So you call things the same, they work the same, but they just slightly incompatable. My luck struck again.
So I trek off to CompUSA to pick up a part, would you believe that the cheapest vido card they had was $30. You’d think that workign with computers every day I’d be used to this….
I must be an idiot!

Despite being great game by a friend of mine, this is not what this is about.
I just can’t seem to do anything right this past week, I’ll blame my cold.
I tried to make muffins last night, and I wanted to use the recipe from IJHFMF. So I pop open the book to the “muffin method” and look at the recipe. Hardware, check. Ingredients, check. Start assembling the ingredients. Flour sugar, eggs, oil, yogurt…… YOGURT?!?!?!????
I swear to god that wasn’t there when I started the recipe… and of course none in the house. So we try to substitute Sour cream… not perfect, but a good general substitute. So what to go in the muffins, cranberries or blackberries. Despite mild objections from other parties I go with the cranberries. Sometimes I should listen. Cranberries were way to tart, combined with the fact that this is a log sugar recipe to begin with and I’m sure sour cream over yogurt supplied some extra twang.
Muffins… complete failure.
So did I mention I’m going back to school. Well since a few of us are at it, and books are so expensive at the school bookstore I ordered from amazon. Since I was ordering “used” the shipments actually come from various locations, so our books have trickled in over the past week. Well classes started Monday, and we still hadn’t received my Accounting book. So I go to Amazon to look up the order and find who to send an email to. Insurance billing, Psychology, Nutrition, Statistics….. why is there no accounting book on this list…. $150 to the campus bookstore… grumble grumble grumble.
Verdict withheld on the success of this class.
